Does Fruit Trees Only deliver plants?
Yes! We offer safe and reliable delivery for all sizes of plants and trees, from small ornamentals to large landscape specimens. Our team ensures your trees arrive in excellent condition with proper handling, packaging, and transport so they are ready for planting when they reach your home or property.
Does Fruit Trees Only install plants?
Yes! Our professional installation service takes the stress out of planting. We handle everything from site preparation and soil amendment to correct planting depth and staking. Proper installation sets your new trees up for long-term health and success in the landscape.
Does Fruit Trees Only remove trees from my yard?
No, unfortunately due to regulations and for liability reasons, we are unable to remove trees from your property.
How do I choose the right fruit tree for my yard?
Consider your available space, sunlight, soil drainage, climate, desired fruit, and how much maintenance you're comfortable with. Our team can help you choose varieties that fit your growing conditions.
Do fruit trees need full sun?
Most fruit trees produce their best growth and fruit in full sun. As a general rule, choose a location with plenty of direct sunlight and good drainage.
Can I grow fruit trees in Florida?
Yes! Florida's climate supports a wide variety of citrus, tropical, subtropical, and other fruit trees. However, the best choice depends on your specific location and the tree's cold tolerance.
Can I grow fruit trees in containers?
Yes. Some fruit trees, particularly certain citrus varieties, can be grown successfully in containers when provided with adequate sunlight, drainage, water, and nutrition.
Does a fruit tree need another tree for pollination?
It depends on the species and variety. Some fruit trees are self-pollinating, while others benefit from or require a compatible pollinator. Ask us about the specific variety you're considering.
Why isn't my tree producing fruit?
Common factors include the tree's age, variety, insufficient sunlight, improper nutrition, excessive nitrogen, inadequate pollination, weather, pruning, water stress, and pests or disease. Review our care guides for plant specific care guidance.
When should I plant my fruit tree?
Many container-grown fruit trees can be planted during much of the year in Florida, but timing can depend on the species and local weather conditions. Tropical trees are particularly sensitive to cold.
How should I plant my new fruit tree?
Choose a sunny, well-drained location. Dig a planting area large enough to allow the roots to establish, position the tree at approximately the same soil level at which it was growing in its container, and water thoroughly after planting.
How often should I water my new tree?
Newly planted trees generally require more frequent watering while their roots establish. After establishment, watering needs vary significantly by species, soil, rainfall, and season.
Should I prune my fruit tree?
Pruning requirements vary by species. Young trees may benefit from structural pruning, while mature trees often only need selective pruning. Avoid unnecessary pruning, particularly on citrus, because it can reduce fruit production.
Where should I plant a tropical fruit tree?
Choose the warmest suitable location on your property with good sunlight and drainage. Protect cold-sensitive trees from exposed locations and areas prone to freezing temperatures.
Do you offer planting advice?
Yes. We can help you understand the basic requirements of the trees we sell, including sunlight, spacing, watering, and general care.
Do you ship fruit trees?
Unfortunately, due to federal and state regulations, we do not ship fruit trees outside of the state. We are able to delivery fruit trees to your property within 50 miles of our nursery.
Can I pick out and pick up my trees?
Yes! We are open to the public 7 days a week and you are welcome to come to the nursery, pick out your plants, and our friendly staff will help load them into your vehicle.
